The Countdown is On!

Sorry it's been so long since our last post...it's getting really busy around the Senior Bowl offices, as I'm sure you can imagine. In fact, as I write this there are only 44 days until the 2010 Under Armour Senior Bowl--it will be here before we know it! As for what's going on here--well there's probably too much to type but we'll try to give you some insight.

First off...ticket sales are steady and expected to really pick up here in the next week. Senior Bowl tickets are the perfect stocking stuffer for your football-loving family member! You can purchase tickets downtown at 151 Dauphin Street or at our new outlet in Mobile's Bel Air Mall. You can also buy them online at http://www.seniorbowl.com/ and by calling 1-888-736-2695.

Player announcements should start any day--so make sure you continue to visit our website and check to see if your favorite player or players made the roster. We really feel good about this year's roster--there are a lot of super seniors out there on our radar. We will also be announcing our halftime entertainment very soon. I think our fans will really be entertained by this year's marching band--they've been here before and believe me they won't disappoint.

As for the coaching staffs we won't know who the NFL will select to coach the North and South squads until probably early January. You can be sure we'll have a major announcement as soon as we know!
Finally...as you can tell by the big logo on this page, beginning Friday fans can signup for the 7th annual Senior Bowl Superstar competition. It's the competition that determines who sings the national anthem prior to the 2010 Under Armour Senior Bowl on January 30th. Last year, for the first time ever, a group won the contest. Only 4 out of Mississippi performed in front of the fans at Ladd, and boy did they do great! We hope for another great competition this year so if you are interested you need to sign up in person at 151 Dauphin Street! Good Luck!!

Kicking Off

It's another active week here at the Senior Bowl offices on Dauphin Street. Several members of the staff have meetings set up throughout the week as we inch closer and closer to January 30, 2010---or as we call it...Game Day! As for game day, we will be announcing our new kickoff time tomorrow so be on the lookout for that. We hope that of our fans will be excited about the new time!

Also coming soon is the release of our new ad campaign. Beginning right after Thanksgiving we'll roll out the new 'look'...it's something we are very excited about and hope that are fans will be too. The Senior Bowl Committee got a "sneak peak" of the campaign last night at The Courtyard Manor on Dauphin Street. It was the second of our three annual committee meetings. Banana Docks catered the event and the food was a hit! We've posted some pictures here of the event.

Full Steam Ahead!

With the 22nd annual Senior Bowl Charity Run now in our rearview mirror, it's full steam ahead here at the Senior Bowl office in getting prepared for the 2010 Under Armour Senior Bowl. Before we talk about the game....some final thoughts on the run.

First off, we could not have asked for a better weather day then the one we got on Saturday, November 7th. Thousands of runners crowded downtown Mobile to take part in either the 10K, 5K or Healthy Families, Healthy Kids One Mile Fun Run. We want to congratulate all of the participants in this year's event, especially our 10K race winners Tonny Okello and Mindy Sullivan (pictured on this page). Okello is a former standout at South Alabama while Sullivan ran track and cross country at the University of Tennessee. For a complete list of results you can visit this page: www.seniorbowl.com/run.asp and click on the link at the bottom.

We hope that everyone enjoyed not only the great weather and flat course but also the Family Fun Festival afterwards in Bienville Square. This is the second straight year we've had the Festival in the Square and it seems to be a hit. There are plenty of activities for the kids and music and adult beverages for the parents! All in all it was another great event and we look forward to the 2010 Charity Run!

As for the game...we are excited to be able to turn our focus to January 30, 2010. In the next few weeks we should be making some big announcements about kickoff time and who will be performing at halftime. We will also be launching our new ad campaign very soon...so be on the lookout for that. I think fans will really be excited about this year's new "look".

As always...remember that tickets for the 2010 game are currently on sale at our headquarters (151 Dauphin St.), new Bel Air mall ticket outlet (near the main entrance) or by phone 888-736-2695 and online (http://www.seniorbowl.com/). Prices are $24, $18 and $10.

Exciting Week at Senior Bowl Headquarters

The football season is well under way, but here at the Senior Bowl offices this week is like our unofficial kickoff. I say this for a couple of reasons. One, on Monday we opened our ticket outlets and "officially" began selling tickets for the 2010 Under Armour Senior Bowl. Fans can purchase tickets online at http://www.seniorbowl.com/ over the phone by calling 432-4109 or at one of our two outlets. Our ticket outlets are located at our headquarters at 151 Dauphin Street and for the first time in a long time we now have an outlet in Mobile's Bel Air Mall. We are also happy to announce that ticket prices have not increased in eight years! In fact, the cost of an end zone ticket for the 2010 game has been reduced to $10. Sideline seats are available for $24 and $18.

The other reason this week kicks off our "season", is its Senior Bowl Charity Run week! Thousands of runners will converge on downtown Mobile this Saturday, November 7th for the 22nd annual Senior Bowl Charity Run. Runners will have the option of competing in a 10K, 5K and one-mile fun run. The entry fee is only $15, but increases to $20 on Friday and Saturday. This is a great opportunity to not only support the Senior Bowl but also support the several Gulf Coast charities that benefit from an event like this. If you'd like to sign up you can pick up our entry forms at our office and at several locations around town. As a staff we use Charity Run week as a good "tune up" before Senior Bowl week rolls around in late January. The weather is supposed to be perfect...so sign up and enjoy a great day running the beautiful streets of downtown Mobile. The 5K starts at 8am followed by the 10K at 8:15 and fun run at 10am. There is also a Family Fun Festival throughout the day in Bienville Square. We will have live music, free food and drink, and lots of activities for the kids! Hope to see you there!!
